New York Times Recounts FSU Winston and Rape Allegations

“I believe that Mr. Winston cannot be convicted. I don’t necessarily believe that he’s innocent.”

Botching sex assault investigations is a time-honored tradition at the Tally PD and Forced Sex U.

From reading the entirety of the article, mainly the sexual assault cases not related to Winston, it doesn't sound like it was necessarily a cover up.

It sounds like they are just straight up negligent when it comes to sexual assault crimes.

I will say this. The affidavits submitted by the players who witnessed the sexual encounter match up perfectly in contradicting the statement of the alleged victim. I would guess that they were provided the statement of the witness in some form and drafted their affidavits accordingly.

The alleged victim had many issues with her statements which are glossed over in this article. But there's still some troubling details in all of this. But given how the police conducted the initial investigation, there's almost no way a conviction could have been obtained.

It doesn't surprise me that another woman had misgivings about her sexual encounter with Winston. There will be more.
