he went to the second round this year and lost to a better team

So maybe he needs to put together a better team. Calipari didn't have that problem at Memphis when they were making Sweet 16s, elite 8s.

yep, tied for his 1st season. However, he needs to be doing more than just winning 24-26 gms per (he had 31 in 12-13) and then getting bounced early in the tournament

Yeah, UT needs a coach that wins 24 games and goes deep into the tourne,,,,oh wait. Nevermind.

I agree with you on Pastner. He can recruit but is a mediocre coach.

so is Pastner a bad coach, or is he no Calipari? Because I never stated he was even near the coach that Cal is. I just said he's a good coach.

One of Pastner's biggest issues is that he is sort of a know-it-all. He needs to bring a good X's and O's assistant to help run the team and everyone in the city can see it. Cal did it, Pearl did it.

He was on a radio show in TN a month or so ago and said he's literally never cussed and will sit players for cussing.

All I'm saying is now we only label someone a "good coach" if they win a damn NC or make a Final Four. 24-10, winning your conference and making the dad-gum NCAA tourney should qualify you as a good basketball coach.

That would be a tremendous hire, if true.

Not all that difficult to do when you play in a weak conference. The AAC was very top heavy this year.

Which he still managed to screw up in the CUSA one year. Got smoked in the first round of the AAC tournament on their home court.

Not enough at Memphis IMO. City absolutely loaded with talent, NBA arena, and tremendous fan support.

Agreed...Tenner is a stepping stone job. Natty aspirations with an elite 8 ceiling.

Pastner is a bad coach, also who couldn't recruit good at Memphis? The city is loaded with talent every year and they all stay home to play at Memphis. He has underachieved big time.
