Nah. It's simply not possible with a country as large as the US.
Too many people, too many guns, and you can't confine everyone here to a city. Far too hard to control a well armed population in a country like this.

It wouldn't be easy and it would take time but the citizens have no answer to the air force or really even the coast guard.
