I don't see martial law being implemented nationwide anytime soon. It's just not practical in a country of this size.

With the anti government sentiments rising on both ends of the political spectrum, it's unworkable. You can't practically control 300 million people if even 5-10% of them decide that they're not going to be controlled.

Yeah, can't see it on a national stage, but definitely can see it localized after natural disasters or something.
