And people that are saying the Blues suck, and this is what the Blues do are foolish.
I said they suck, but not as in talent. I don't follow them close enough to say that. And I'd bet from their regular season records and where they finish in the regular season, they probably don't suck in the talent department. What they are good for, though, is teasing you into thinking they are better than they are but then never making it to the conference finals. When and how many times have they made the conference finals? Forget playing for the Stanley cup. I bet I can count how many times on 1 hand. Especially since they went to the Central as opposed to Norris, which is what? 20 years.

They shouldn't have teased anyone.
I've tried explaining to Blues fans hundreds of times about how a team of B+, with maybe some A- players can do really well in the regular season, but in the playoffs you need elite players.
On any given day during MLB regular season it's good to have your solid number 2 or 3 starter on the mound. But in the playoffs you've really got to have an ace, and ideally co aces to get you a championship.
They are a team of B+, maybe some A- players. They have no ace.
The game Kane scored in OT is such a perfect example of how when things get locked up, when two teams are playing very evenly, you need that ace, that A+ elite player to break it open. Kane took that game over, had a few chances and finally scored.
Blues play petal to the metal from day one, while teams like the Hawks do things a different way and make sure they're playing their best in April, not November.
