Do you get along with/like your in-laws? Or your SO's parents?

Aggiebelle's mom is in town this weekend for a visit. Honestly, I love the woman. So accepting and nice, and always has been towards me. Same for belle's dad and brother. Always felt comfortable with them, and sometimes my wife jokes that her folks love me more than her because they get so excited when I get to talk to them on the phone I consider myself lucky.

How about y'all? Do you care for your in-laws or is it a horror show?

Both sets actually. I don't come off nearly as toolish in person as I do on the internet.

My in-laws are awesome. My mother-in-law can sometimes be the meddling type, but she's also the sweetest lady you could hope to meet. She almost always takes my side when the Mrs and I have a disagreement, which drives my wife crazy.

Get along great with my father-in-law and am really close to him, especially since I lost my dad.

Just met my SO's parents within the last few weeks actually and they are awesome. Her dad and I talked for hours about sports and different things. He also plays Mario Kart damn near every day so we played that as well. Guy is a blast to be around

Her mom is the same way. Very warm and welcoming. Cooked us dinner a few times and was always willing to do anything for you. Probably going on a trip with them to Florida this summer so I'm really looking forward to getting to hang out with them again.

My in-laws are divorced and my MIL has since remarried. I love my FIL and my wife's stepfather, very different guys but both very cool in their own right.

As for my MIL, I certainly dont have animosity towards her but we've had our clashes. There was a time when she tried to be a little too involved in our relationship.

I really like my brother in law and his wife, we hang out with them fairly regularly.

I get along with her dad more so, even though the only connection we have is sports. He is straight coonass and I'm more city since I'm not big on fishing, hunting, guns, etc.....

The mom thinks the girl could do better as she was dating an offshore worker who made a hell of a lot more but was never around. I mean shite, when we bought our house I told her we would paint it and the mom tried to show me how to paint. Then a tire needed to be changed and I went to change it but the mom had called Triple A because she didn't think I knew what I was doing. Apparently she thinks I'm 1 step away from being mentally retarded.

One of the best aspects of my divorce was never having to see those cold fish again. Good riddance.

My wifes Father is dead and g=her mother has extreme dementia. Her Stepdad is one that I could beat the shite out of and not have one bit of remorse over. He is truly a POS.

Not married, but get along with the SO's family pretty well. We have our moments because we come from different worlds so to speak, but I haven't really had any major issues.

I've had two sets. I was married for a hot minute to my first husband while I was in college. His parents were the most backwards/redneck/ignorant/offensive people imaginable. Naturally I retaliated by acting like a spoiled elitist bitch. The day our divorce was final was a great day for us all.

My late husband's family is kind of a mess, but their intentions are good. I get along pretty well with them, especially in small doses.

I get along great with my SO's parents.

His mom never stops talking and his dad rarely ever talks much, but they're both super nice.
