Spring games are NOT pointless. Just ask Nick Saban, the Alabama players and the recruits that were there when we filled the house with 92,000 plus for Saban's first ADay.

All practices at Bama are pretty much closed so you can get a look at players in a simulated game and get a little out of it. Think Blake Sims won't be going all out and every eye in the place won't be on him?

Please dont try to tell Bama fans that the spring game is just practice. It's all they got. Poor things. That's why 600,000 show up annually.

He CAN'T go all out because contact and running are limited for the QB in spring games.

Coming out of our spring game Sumlin's first year, everyone was sure Showers would be the starter and that Manziel was most likely a career backup because Manziel wasn't allowed to scramble. That is the perfect summation of the pointlessness of spring games.
