To be fair, the aorta is referred to in different sections (thoracic, abdominal, etc) so there is plenty of confusion about that. FWIW, this apparently being a gut shot, it hit him in the abdominal aorta section. It's a really bad and really painful place to be shot.

I am quite clearly blaming Winey for doing some really dumbass shite. He pulled the gun, he pulled the trigger and considering the girl drove Tahj to the hospital, I think it is safe to say he was all alone in his plan of action. It is very obvious where I am placing blame when I am talking about him letting his emotions get the best of him and having made an idiotic decision because he let himself get played by a girl that was just looking for a payday or the ability to say "I bumped uglies with X number of LSU football players".
I am just making sure that this girl gets her share of blame for creating the situation. Winey and Jones both should have been pissed at her for running around behind their backs and had they done that, cussed her out and walked away like they should have, we wouldn't have this horrible situation we do know with a guy in Tahj laid up in a hospital just because he was trying to hang out with what he thought was his girl. Acknowledging that doesn't make Winey any less of a piece of shite, it just acknowledges that she kind of is too.

Sounds like you have the inside scoop. I did hear it was over a female but quite honestly, unless he tried to hurt her or rape her or some other life threatening action, you don't shoot someone over it. The girl may have been playing them both but damn, shoot the guy over it?

For the actual crime here, the shooting itself, I absolutely agree. I'm just saying that the girl created the situation that led to it. I'm not saying she deserves any sort of prosecution or any crazy shite like that, just that she needs to take a step back and realize she facilitated this tragedy happening.

He's doing better today. Was scheduled for surgery today at noon to make sure nothing was missed yesterday and to insert a feeding tube. Haven't heard an update after surgery. He's a good kid just was at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Just got some great news on Tahj after surgery and recovery today:
Update after surgery:
They removed the bullet, no plate was needed (praise God) the doctor was very pleased with everything he saw ... He put the feeding tube in and sewed him up! Time to start healing. They will take him off the ventilator tomorrow. If he does good , after that he will be moved to a regular room!
His family and friends really appreciate all the thoughts and prayers! They have been reading the thread and asked for this to be posted to get out some accurate info on his condition.
