I'll say this: I find it a bit hypocritical that we as a society are generally ok with this as a means of protecting the fetus and, later, the child but suggest we should restrict or remove the option to abort and people lose their minds.

Eh, I don't find it much different than being against abortion but for the death penalty. Different circumstances tend to bring different responses.

People have different ideas about when it is a child. To a religious person it starts somewhere about the sperm stage, to another say if there has been no brain development to speak of it's not so clear.

If you're going to bring a child into the world you shouldn't use fricking drugs while you're carrying said child. The evidence of disabilities when the mother is a drug abuser has been thoroughly researched.

If you have no desire to have a child and it's aborted you're not setting a child up for a life of disabilities and hardships.
