Pinkel was mentored by the great Don James and when James recently passed away, Pinkel remarked that he was like a father to him.

Saban was always the star...just a little better at everything. But James saw something special in Pinkel and chose to mentor him.

Saban became exceptional but eventually lost his soul.

Pinkel, though not a perfect man, has never lost his soul and preaches "the right way" like a Southern Baptist minister.

All three (Saban, Pinkel, and James) have national title experience.

Saban's accomplishments are well known.

However, what is less known is that Pinkel won a national title at Washington when he was Don James' offensive coordinator. Pinkel has openly said that he doesn't want to retire until he has accomplished that himself.

Pinkel is about to dethrone the dark lord and restore balance to the empire.
