I'm going to catch some hell for saying this but a coach that consistently went 7-5 with an Egg Bowl at Ole Miss would be gone in 5 years if he didn't pull off some wins over LSU or Bama. I can't say the same for State. They would eventually want more but a coach that does that would last longer at State than Ole Miss.

I see your point, but at the same time, Mullen would be gone right now if it weren't for the immediate outlook. He's done exactly what we are discussing here, 7-8-9 wins a year and winning the egg bowl. I think the only reason people aren't lighting the fire is the return of all but like 6 guys in our two deep. If we win 9+ this year, I think he would still be gone in a few more 7-8 win seasons. And thats a little unfortunate, because neither school is going to ever do better than getting to bowls and being really good once a decade.
