Very nice link.

I am liking all of the new Southern boutique whiskey brewers that are popping up all over the South as well, including Georgia.

But nothing like Kentucky where you have more barrels of aging whiskey currently in state than you have resident humans.

Athens has been a great beer town for those who care enough to pay attention. I'm a little less optimistic about things to come because of a few key figures in the beer scene who have left Athens in the past year. Maybe someone else will step up, but I'm not really seeing it yet. For example, the tap lineup for Brewhaha is good this year, but it's nowhere near the lineups we've seen over the past five years. Of course, I'm probably just a jaded old beer nerd.

Richard Miley (mentioned in the article) is a cool guy and a top shelf chef and beer lover. We are lucky to have him around.
