Like I say, student athletes should have one of two options:

1) Take a 4-year scholarship that the university must honor so long as you meet minimum academic requirements.

or

2) Forego the scholarship, negotiate a year-by-year salary, contingent on on-field success. At the end of the contractual period, the university retains the right to cut ties with the student athlete.
