In the grand scheme, it's a big deal because it's academic misconduct. But in terms of academic misconduct, this isn't horribly egregious. UGA has dealt with much worse.

True.

In UGA's long, sordid, and well established history of manipulating academics for athletics, this is barely a blip.

Shame we can't be as lilly white as Auburn, no?

Even if those things were ethnically questionable, they were still done. Roberts interviewed three former Auburn players who said that nine players' grades were changed before the Tigers' 2011 BCS National Championship game.

"We thought we would be without (running back) Mike Dyer because he said he was one of them, but Auburn found a way to make those dudes eligible," said former Auburn defensive lineman Mike Blanc.

Former Auburn safety Mike McNeil, who the school vanquished after his arrest on armed robbery charges in 2011, told Roberts in her report that his grade for a computer science class was an F. After informing a counselor within the athletic department, his grade was changed from an F to a C in a matter of days and he did not miss a game.
