Not to jump into the middle of this whole thing, but I don't see the number of incidents at Mizzou as a problem. In fact, I'd think it was a success. It makes me wonder if there is a culture and environment at Mizzou where those who are raped feel more comfortable reporting it or if there is an issue with rapes in the program. Remember, a small percentage of rapes actually get reported under normal circumstances.

It's a valid point. With so few getting reported as a percentage, it wouldn't take but a couple of instances to make it appear to be a huge problem. So, statistically, the difference is potentially small with a huge difference in results expressed as a percentage.

I'm probably still bitter about Dixon's first rape accusation and what I felt was an absolutely unacceptable response by a coach. In reality, the rest of the responses have been pretty good (outside of crazy Larry's reinstatement of a cat in the late 90s).

Secondly, I probably bristle a bit too much when I feel people are making excuses for what is just shitty behavior. And when we start saying "Did he just bump their car or ram it at 20 mph? Did the girl get accidentally shoved to the ground as he attacked his teammate, or did he whale on her?" I'm pretty much done.

I understand. Waiting for facts can hamper the jumping to conclusion stage. It happens to a lot of internet posters. FYI, I like you as a poster and you are a good addition to the rant.
