Unlikely. I don't really see the point. He's not going to stay for 5 years anyway. If it takes a few weeks into the season for him to be ready, you just wait and play him then.

With an injury to Gurley, a Marshall redshirting would leave two freshmen to carry the load. Plus, as has been mentioned, Marshall won't see his Sr year in Athens. There is no reason to redshirt him.

Unless he has not recovered from his knee surgeries yet, then he will play. If he isn't all the way back though and Gurley can stay healthy, I really wouldn't mind RS'ing Marshall.

Should Gurley go down like the one poster said, it isn't like there is some complicated process to pull the redshirt. You just put them in the game and bam, it's gone.
