It happened to me once outside of normal conversation where it may naturally come up. It went like this (not kidding):
Them: Yeah, I'm a Christian.
Me: Well, I'm a police officer from up Brainerd investigating some malfeasance.
Them: Yeah, I'm a Christian.
Me: Well, I'm a police officer from up Brainerd investigating some malfeasance.

I was raised Christian, I identify as such though I've had a lapse in faith and I don't hold any hostility toward Christians but people that come out and immediately say that when you first meet them usually turn out to be intolerable.

When someone tells me they're a Christian I immediately start sinning right in front of them so they get uncomfortable.

It leads me to believe that they act the exact opposite way, like it's a cover for something.
