Were South Carolina fans as annoying after getting Frank Martin as Auburn fans

have been since hiring Bruce Pearl?
Both are great coaches and both have the capability to drastically improve their respective programs so I'm not saying Auburn fans shouldn't be excited about the hire.
But I believe they have gone overboard and need to chill for a minute and realize they aren't winning the SEC next year. Were SC fans this annoying 2 years ago after Martin was hired? If so, sorry.

I give the Auburn fans a break because the hire has caused an outpouring of butthurt from some other fanbases. No one cared enough about SC or Martin for that to happen

It's a mix of shock and excitement and honestly about 50% is just borderline flaming out of giddiness over the fact that Bruce Pearl is our coach. Don't take it seriously. We don't really.

All I seem to remember is hearing how stupid it would be for Pearl to go to Auburn, no way it happens, he's a cheater/douche/fits right in at Auburn, won't stay long, bla bla bla. Sooo...

As someone posted earlier, when A&M joined the SEC I always wondered how Auburn fans behaved when they saw any sports success. Now I know.

I just don't think there is a win in answering this question. So, I will just leave it out there. There is admission in the ask though.
