We are the number 1 state in the country for violent crime (murder, rape, robbery, etc.) per 100,000 residents according to a 2006 study by the FBI and Census.

I always question the validity of things like this. West Virginia has the highest depression rate, yet Wyoming has the highest suicide rate? Is WV more depressed because its citizens don't have what it takes to pull the trigger like those Wyoming folks? VERMONT has the most Iraq deaths? The second least populous state? How the hell does Ohio have the most air pollution?
