So, I'm the one who started the "is it time to give up on this team" a couple of weeks back.

However, I did see some growing up this week, and a genuine desire to want to win, which I'm not sure I had seen previously, since they lost to some vastly inferior teams.

Anyway, the stage is set. K State will be a tough opponent, but what better motivation if they get past them than the only undefeated team in the nation? Then UL, probably Duke/Michigan. Lots of reason to be motivated there, even though it's a murderer's row of competition.

Do I see a glimmer that they could use this at motivation to prove the critics wrong? Yes. Do I think they will be able to ride that to the Final 4. Probably not.

But, I'm a homer, and this is a UK board, so I think they beat K State, Wichita State, UL, Duke and get to the Final 4.

Realistically, lose to UL. Wishfully, get to Final 4 then anything can happen.

What say you?

Made my bracket and had Louisville in the Final Four. I started to feel sick to my stomach, so now I have Kentucky losing to Arizona in the Final Four

They kind of got screwed on seeding, but matchup wise I like the idea of a possible run. The teams that give Kentucky trouble are teams that can match up with their bigs.

I worry about them possibly overlooking K State in the 1st round, but I think the idea of them getting screwed by the selection committee again will help with motivation.

Wichita State is an interesting matchup because they have great guard play. If WCS comes to play then Cats should put up a hell of fight. The pressure of being undefeated has to catch up to Wichita St eventually, so heres to hoping it comes in that game.

I get a good chuckle when people act like Louisville beating Kentucky would be a given. Cats have already beaten the Cards pretty handily once this year and that was with Julius Randle out for basically the entire second half. The size of our guards seem to have given them a lot of problems. You always have to worry about Russ Smith getting hot though and Harrell is a lot better since that game.

The possible Duke/Michigan game would be intriguing because I think the Cats would still have a serious advantage in the front court against both these teams. The thing you have to worry about is they can both get hot from 3, Duke especially. A possible Kentucky/Duke regional final featuring Julius Randle against Jabari Parker though

I have them losing to Arizona because they have a comparable front court.

...takes off blue tinted glasses....

I will just be happy if they make some sort of run, even if it is only to the sweet 16, as long as Duke, Louisville, UNC, Kansas, or UCLA don't win anything.

Even though it hasn't been the best season we should all get a nice chuckle in over the fact that Indiana didn't even get invited to the NIT.
