For the sake of SEC Basketball, is it time to drop the SECw?

There's a lot of talk nationally about how weak as a whole the SEC is at basketball, but until now it's been hard to accurately point the finger on who's to blame, b/c there are so many bad teams.
However, recent data from the SEC Tournament has shown that there is a distinct problem to SEC Basketball, it's the entire SECw.
Here are the Quarter Final teams
Florida vs. Mizzou
Tennessee vs. South Carolina
Kentucky vs. LSU
Georgia vs. Ole Miss
Only 2 are SECw teams out of 8. Their bad play and poor RPI are crippling the SEC as a basketball conference. Furthermore, it is most likely that we are about to have an All SECe Semi-Finals.
So the obvious solution is to keep the SECe intact and to take away the SEC membership from the former SECw teams. They can still have a conference within themselves, and name it whatever they want. Slive has a lot to think about....

Only if we can drop the East in August.

Florida and Kentucky should just play a 7 game series.
And LOL @ USCe fan talking shite about basketball. You're 4-7 against the "SECw" (no such thing) this year. With 2 of the wins in the SECT against Auburn and State.
PS- You lost twice to Auburn this year before you finally beat them.
71-68, also.

That was briefly under consideration, but then we would lose 66.6% of our Top 5 Nationally ranked teams from last year and the only 2 SEC teams that won a nationally respected Bowl Game.

But only one team that pulled its weight during the BCS era.

I think that's the bottom line here. If the cut out the garbage Basketball teams (SECw), will Slive be able to better negotiate a more profitable media deal.

If we remain a conference who always looks to the past, we'll be doomed to stay there. We have to look at what is working and producing right now and be flexible to change.

speaking of profit: find a list of the most profitable bball programs in the SEC, take the top 7, cut the rest. let me know who you end with up, because profits!

yes,if only teams had that rich tradition of South Carolina basketball.

I could be mistaken but I think only Florida and Kentucky make a profit on men's basketball.

Again you're living in the past, also our BBall history isn't awful...not awesome, but not awful either. The last time LSU won the SECw, SC won the SECe that same year in 2009.
