Is it the color scheme causing the potential confusion? Why not mention State and A&M too? Maroon is Maroon.

nah. there's just no reason to allow bandwagon fans to add their flavor-of-the-month logo to the license when it would just have to be changed to USC, or Michigan, or Florida, or Middle Tennessee State once they are the new bandwagon-heavy team.
