Yeah we have another pick from McCann and if Santana goes elsewhere after this year(which is 90% going to happen), I think we get another one back. Not quite sure how it'll work.
It'll help the rotation for sure. We were looking very, very thin at the position that carried us to the playoffs last year. I mean, I'd rather have Medlen than him, but what can you do? We obviously have the money and it's not a long term deal that will screw us in the coming years. Any midseason move would have probably cost us prospects.
In any case, it's promising that LM will just dump an extra 14m to help us for a season. Makes it more likely that we extend J Hey next year.

Good will gesture probably because they see what's happening in the future with the new ball park. What is our current deal with them (How many years left on the contract?)
