Smart tv would've been a better choice. I can run netflix, hulu, and hbo to go from the tv. It doesn't always work smoothly though.
We got the wii for like $40 just for parties and stuff.

We have a regular HDTV, a Roku, and a Wii U.
We still didn't get the good stuff with our Wii and only use it in the family room for Netflix.
