I believe you are incorrect as far as child support. Any person can have their payments decreased if the payee has a loss in income, not sure about the alimony.

The judge told my buddy to get a different job or work more hours.


So he gets a different job, a few years go by he advances in the field, she finds out he is making 40k a year more now than then, protests for more child support and back pay.

He pays for every thing from school to sports related stuff, keeps them 2 full weeks out of the month (basically half a year they stay with him) he doesn't have joint custody (he protested for it).

She hasn't worked since the divorce took place 5 years ago.
