Do they still have their hand down in Montgomery? Love some good ole corrupt state and local politics.

Texas is a battle between the machine and the tea party. they're running about 60/40 right now power wise.

It's almost time for SGA elections, and that's when they'll really flex their muscle.

Pretty much. The religious right has made a strong push, but the power brokers have more or less brought them into the fold, though they're just using them for their votes. GOP has a super majority right now and have been making a mockery of democracy the past 2 sessions. It'd be hilarious if it wasn't so sad.
