He's not allowing Marshall to train with George Whitfield this summer. Interesting since the big time coaches don't seem to have a problem with this:

It's what's best for Auburn. The fact it may hinder an Auburn QB's chances at getting a successful start in the league is secondary.

What a dick

Guess he wants Marshall to remain a RB instead of a QB

Gus is a QB guru. e.g. Cam Newton, Nick Marshall, Kiehl Frazier, Clint Moseley, Barrett Trotter, Chris Todd.

Pointless thread. It would be a waste of time to try and make Marshall into something he is not. Whitfield can't make Phillip anymore of a QB than Gus can.

If Marshall wants to play in the NFL, he needs to switch back to DB.

Might I just interject something?

It is truly amazing the offseason arguments that get manufactured around here just out of a sense of pure boredom. We seem to just come up with random stuff to get other fanbases riled up with. Crazy stuff to say the least. Please carry on with this utterly insane, baseless, yet entertaining confrontation...

Strange decision, I don't remember a HC doing something like this before.

He's the Auburn head coach--that's his call.
I'm sure he has his reasons.
But if I'm a big-time QB/parent of a QB recruit coming out of HS, you can bet I'm taking Gus's micromanagement into consideration when deciding on a school that wants what's best for me/my son in the long run.
That's the great thing about 'merica. Choices.

Well, Gus's QB's by in large have completely sucked.

Having access to Cam Newton one year doesn't make you a QB genius.

I mean Mike Shula is Newton's QB coach right now, so... ya.
