The really crazy thing is that there are actually two airports in B/CS. Easterwood and the old Bryan Army Airfield, which is now known as Texas A&M University - Riverside Campus. Of course, only one is operational. The old runway out there is used as a race track and the surrounding land and hangers have been (partially) repurposed. They're building a 1,000,000 volume low circulation library out there now that's going to be shared by A&M and UT.

Fun Fact: Gus Grissom was a jet instructor at Bryan AFB in the 1950s.

Yeah being born and raised in SC and in the SEC I sometimes forget not everyone comes from such a culture. Some in my group came from small towns / just aren't into sports at all. When they saw Kyle Field their jaws dropped. Don't get me wrong, its a nice big stadium, but with my home stadium being comparable in attendance (pre Kyle expansion) and attending games across the SEC I was more like

Also, I immediately noticed how glad you guys were to get into the SEC and break away from Texas. You guys are in your 2nd year and I've never seen so many SEC logos and heard "this is SEC country" than I have at A&M.

Its a shame though, I would've loved to attend a UTx-A&M game.

There's Coulter Field too which is on 21 east of 6. It's definitely operational. Seeing the line of private planes land at Easterwood in the morning while tailgating is always awesome though
