I love Chattanooga. Lived here for most of my life.
Let me know if you move down and are athletic... we need a safety of my flag football team.

I lived there for three years and how you feel about Chattanooga, obviously, depends on what you like to do. Chattanooga's strength truly is its outdoor activities. When I left there, 6 years ago the food scene was starting to grow and they were just starting the Riverwalk stuff I think. Its very pretty, traffic even around the bypass was never terribly bad. Lookout and Signal offer good hiking and climbing. Hilly country for cycling. Cost of living was cheap and the people were friendly.
5 years ago I moved to Nashville and I would never go back to Chattanooga. I liked Chattanooga a lot, and its outdoor offerings are a good deal better than Nashville's imo, but there is no comparison as far as food, culture, and nightlife. Nashville has all the offerings of a big city without feeling terribly big to me. Plus the job market in IT is just fricking insane.
Edit: Ohh yeah, Chattanooga is notoriously bad for people with pollen allergies. Apparently something about how it sits down in a bowl. My green car would be literally turned yellow in bad seasons. Though we did live around a lot of pines.
