Someone actually suggested that as a plot.

I actually think this show has the potential to be a historic spin-off. It's probably the most logical one, and one of the few that will actually have a major focus on the original's main characters.

They'll also have a major audience as long as BMW fans are happy with it. They can feasibly have an age range of 8-35 year olds watching the show regularly from the beginning. The kids are interested in watching these kids they'll grow up with, the parents will be interested in watching the kids they grew up with.
