I'm a prosecutor, so I have a few thoughts on this:

1. Darian Claiborne. He would have been suspended for the Chicken Bowl for weed regardless, but the real reason he is in trouble is because Adderall possession is a state jail felony. He admitted to it, so there's nothing he can do other than try to work out a plea deal. Because of who he is, and that he likely doesn't have a large criminal record, I nearly guarantee that the Brazos DA's office will offer him a deferred adjudication. That will get resolved. The weed case will go away.

In his current case, it doesn't seem like he was connected to the drugs, he was just cited a class C ticket. Class C tickets are nothing - if that is all he got, Sumlin isn't going to punish him any further than making him pay his court fine and moving on, maybe extending his suspension for awhile. He shouldn't even miss a game in my opinion.

2. Isaiah Golden. He might miss the first game, but there's no way of telling since it's so far away. Again, he doesn't have a record, so he's going to get VERY light treatment from the County Attorney's Office. They will give a deferred or even possibly dismiss if he takes a drug class. His punishment will be more severe on the athletic side than the law enforcement side.

3. Speedy Noil. We need to be a little worried about him because he supposedly has this reputation as a pothead and it hasn't been 2 months and he's already been associated with other players smoking weed on the team. He is fine here, but I'm a little concerned about his maturity. I trust in Sumlin to make his punishment the MOST severe out of all of them to send him a very clear message, that we don't allow our Quarterbacks to act this way. Not if they want to start.
