It's usually listed as one of the best hoaxes ever.
The same guy found out a theater owner in Petersburg, which is a fishing village of Norwegian ancestors, decided to stop giving children a free matinee on Saturdays. He printed off realistic looking tickets, flew to Petersburg and dropped them on the streets for the kids in Petersburg to retrieve. When hundreds of kids showed up for their free matinee, the owner couldn't turn them down.
He did this for a couple of weeks til the owner relented and started the free matinee again.
