This would be the best part.
Unlike 12 empty seats representing great fans, this King Gill idea could EASILY be explained by the broadcasters, who would fawn all over the opportunity to show the statue in the stands and then transition to gushing about how good the fans really are.
Longhorns, although they could understand the symbolism, would just hate it and their Randolph Duke-type fans would exhaust themselves to the point of seizures by ranting non-stop for the next decade about how cheesy it is, which would please me greatly.

I could see him yelling at the screen during our broadcast (as you know he watches every game):
"No you idiot announcer! The 12mn statue is NOT original or cool! They stole it! The nasty Aggies stole everything my precious!!"
