Just when it seems like things are starting to clear up, it happens. Again. And the middle of the conference is back to being a cluster. But the latest Bracketology shows 4 teams in, so there's that!
Special thanks to a certain voter for the new word added to our collective lexicon this week.
Special thanks to SpartyGator and 1813, our guest votes of the week winners!
And here we go...
Text version
1. Florida
2. Kentucky
3. Missouri
4. Tennessee
5. Ole Miss
6. Georgia
7. LSU
8. Arkansas
9. Vanderbilt
10. Texas A&M
11. Auburn
12. Alabama
13. South Carolina
14. Mississippi State

Georgia is ranked sixth? Bogus.
Georgia is currently ranked third in the conference after going 8-4 after 12 games - a pretty good representative sampling.
So the SECr ranks Ole Miss ahead of us. We just beat them and they are only 6-6 in conference play.
Then the SECr ranks Tennessee ahead of us. They are only 6-6 in conference play. But hey, we haven't played them yet and they may very well kick our arses in Knoxville tomorrow so I'll give you that one. I mean, by any objective measure, Georgia should be ranked ahead of them as of today. But I'm feeling generous.
Then we have Missouri. We beat them at their place and they are currently 6-6 in conference play. And y'all have them ranked third.
I officially declare the Official Week 7 Basketball Power Rankings to be a heaping pile of flaming biased horse shite.
Have a nice day.

Beat LSU and lose to Mizzou by 1 point and move down. Seems legit.

I look at the power rankings based on how teams are playing AT THE TIME OF THE RANKING, and then consider who they would be better than in the conference ON A NEUTRAL FLOOR.
So for example, I don't like UGA as a team very much. At home they're decent, but on the road, not as much. I still don't know how Mizzou lost to UGA at home. UK, UF, and now UT all dismantled them when UGA came to visit, and I think UT and Mizzou are about equal. I think we'll see a similar result when UGA goes to play @ Arky.
The problem with the SEC isn't that there aren't any good teams, it's just that the SEC doesn't have any consistent teams, and UGA has been somewhat opportunistic this year in SEC play.
After tonight, UGA will be at about 0 in scoring margin of SEC games.
Missouri meanwhile is +6, Tennessee is +9, Arkansas is +10.
That's just one statistic, but I think those teams are better overall, just not very consistent, and UGA has taken advantage of that to a certain extent.
But in a POWER RANKING, I wouldn't have them anywhere near the top.

I remember an entire Legion of LSU Geektards wetting their panties over Anthony Grant after Brady was fired.
