My favorite corps tradition is the whole you can't say certain common words like tree ("tall bush"). I remember when I was told about that and I thought the person was joking with me.

I've told this before, but I love it. Younger sister visited our dorm my freshman year. She looked out our window and saw the RV's practicing.
"Who are those guys?"
"What guys?"
"Those guys right there!"
"I don't see anything."
"THEY'RE RIGHT THERE!"
"Sorry, I don't see anything."
Pointing now and getting agitated, "Is this some weird joke? Those guys MARCHING RIGHT OUTSIDE YOUR WINDOW. Who are they?"
"You may not understand. It is not my privilege to see through windows."
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU...? OK, fine. If you COULD see through windows who would those guys be?"
"If I could see through windows I still couldn't see those guys. They're invisible."
"Who are those guys?"
"What guys?"
"Those guys right there!"
