Not really. Baseball is relatively unique in that the defense sets the tempo and starts the play. Whereas in football, the offense controls the tempo of the game and sets the game into motion. Fundamentally they are very different sports and your analogy is weak and small minded.

This is what I am getting at in the analogy. I'm glad you saw it even though you didn't realize it. The pitcher/defense controls the tempo in baseball, but the batter/offense is allowed to get set before the action starts. I think it should be the same in football.
