Cecil Hurt, the bammer lackey, is finding it hard to defend his almighty coach. Must be hard to excuse having your coach get into a meeting by special invitation when others didn't even know about it. Must be hard to be the lone voice praising and excusing saban when the whole country is calling him a coward. The bammers are latching onto that little sentence as the funniest thing they've heard all day.

The beautiful thing about being a fan of a team that isn't "all in fambily" is that I don't have to defend our coach.

He's an a-hole, he can be petty and rude (especially to media), and in this case he looks like he's trying to game the system. If he were my best friend, I'd call him on it. If he were my son, I'd give him some strong advice. As the coach of my favorite team, and a damn successful one, he can do his thing unless it becomes a problem for the program or the university.
