Bauta was the guy in the headphones on the sideline when Mason went in vs Kentucky and also for the GT game I believe.

With another Spring and Summer of scrimmages between now and then, who the hell knows, I'm not even convinced Mason will start.

I think it'll depend on how he & Bauta play in spring & fall practice. I don't think Richt will ride Mason like he did Cox in '09, I think FB or Brice gets an early shot if HM is frickin' up. All we had was Grey at b/u in '09 & no one really knew how hurt Murray was as a RSFr. until '10..

I think he would have to melt down pretty hard to get the boot for Ramsey (or Bauta, or whoever). He stuck around to get his shot and Bobo/Richt will give him every opportunity to take it.

He already has but he settled down vs Nebraska and looked pretty good though granted he was still short-arming his passes to insure accuracy. Unfortunately our receivers couldn't hold onto the ball in critical situations.

I think Mason should be OK. He's not as good as Murray but if he plays smart we should win 10 games with next season's schedule.

Mason doesn't have to be Murray. In fact, if he tries to do that we could be in trouble. Next year's about the running game and playmakers on the outside making plays in space. Mason needs to protect the ball first of all, and then complete enough passes downfield to keep the defense honest when those opportunities present themselves

if HM hands the ball off and keeps drives going with decent decisions, he'll do what is required of him..I doubt if richt and Bobo expect him to be a Mathew Stafford or Aaron Murray...because he's not..

guys might remember even Cox lit the scoreboard up with a bum shoulder and a small dick..
