In that case, there is no logical reason for dying for a lie.

Agreed.

Without any gain for others, dying for a lie serves no purpose.

Then by your own logic, why do you suggest that the Bible, in particular the NT, is a hoax? Why would those men prop up a lie unto death? Those men who walked with Christ and formed their opinion from a first hand account. They go out and tell others knowing they would face death? Then when being faced with death, died rather than undo the hoax?

I believe Jesus' was a real person who very well may have thought he was the son of God. In addition, I believe his followers genuinely believed in his divinity or some form of divine power/authority. I believe all were deluded first century Hebrews who had some very good ideas on how to treat your fellow man.

Additionally, there is no historical proof that any of the disciples existed, that any of them died for being Christian, etc. It's not even an established fact they died for their faith.

Your argument holds no water regardless because as a Christian, you believe Islam is a lie and yet millions have died for it through the centuries. Most of Muhammads closest followers were executed in one way or another.
