Yeah,they're pretty boring but quite necessary, especially regarding Daryl. He isn't in the comics so we need to know the background the writers want him to have. He's obviously going to remain a main character for the duration of the series.

I enjoyed seeing him respond to the emotionally stable Beth. She caused him to open up to his true feelings about the Zombiepocalypse. It was a major step for his character. In a somewhat less important manner, Beth took a symbolic step into adulthood. One, I think, that was precipitated by the death of her father.
