Another qualitative observation...
When I drive around Greenville, all I see are Clemson and Carolina stickers.
When I drive through Alabama, all I see are Tide and Tiger stickers.
When I drive through Atlanta, it looks like the damn SEC rant.

Another illustrative story-
In 2008, I had just started working there, and a vendor rep came in to educate some of the new people (myself included) on the crap they peddle to us. The lady goes around the room, asking where everyone is from, of course no one is from Georgia. She gets to me, I tell her Georgia. She says "But where are you from originally?" I say Georgia. Here. She looks at me sideways like a confused dog, and I say "I was born in Piedmont Hospital in 19XX" and the room erupts with laughter, not sure why it's funny, maybe because there seemed to be some tension in the room? Anyways, the lady says she has only lived in Georgia for 2 years, and I was the first person she's met that is actually from Georgia.
Exciting Times.
