I figure maybe 1/3 of the Atlanta area recruits fall under this generalization. But, the majority of the recruits that come out of the state?

I just said a lot, not the majority. But I'd say more than 1/3 of Atlanta is not from Georgia.

Yeah thats crazy to think that most of the kids that play football in GA at the high school level, didnt grow up here or have any ties to GA. Even if they didnt grow up here in GA, just by living in GA (for highschool), they still have some ties to GA.

If these kids grew up in GA

This is your first mistake. A lot of these kids didn't grow up in Ga and if they did their parents more than likely did not so there is very little in the way of allegiance to UGA.

With this, you are implying a lot of stuff that just doesn't match what you later post. Also I can see how atl might influence kids from not wanting to go to Athens, jsut b/c of how close it is. A hr between cities doesn't give some of these kids enough space, and for some it doesnt matter (Mettenburger)
