It'll come down to Mizzou or Georgia. Plus, Mizzou plays Georgia in Columbia this year after a bye week, so I'm predicting Mizzou wins the East again in 2014. The race to win the East will be close and more than likely determined by who wins the Mizzou/Georgia game.

Florida's clearly down. Not sure what the hell is going on down there (cough, cough, coach).

South Carolina will be competitive. However, they lost their starting QB and their backup doesn't appear to be great. I mean, Mauk is clearly more talented than Dylan Thompson. I don't anticipate Dylan to become a world beater between last year's game and 2014's game.

Who else is left to worry about? I think this about sums up the East.

Mizzou's 2014 football schedule:

Maybe

USC

Probably

UF and UT

Could easily be much improved.

The East is far from decided.

I think it's gonna be a battle to be honest. I see UT as being much improved. Florida has nowhere to go but up. Honestly...I could see any one of these teams winning it. UGA, Mizzou, UT, UF, USC.

ETA: and yeah, good decision, basing your predictions on one one player from each team.

Crapshoot. If anyone predicted MiZzzouri to win it last year they would have been laughed off the board.

If South Carolina didn't draw Auburn from the West, I would go with them. But considering Georgia drew Arkansas, I'm gonna have to go with them as the favorites.

I say Missouri is the best on paper, but then once the games are played what's best on paper doesn't always win.

I'm going with Tennessee for the East.

I like Mizzou's scheduling, with a bye before a home game with UGA. Definitely favors y'all.

We've got Vandy at home the week before, so the extra week to prepare could give Mizzou the edge.

Should be a good game.

I really have no idea how good USC is going to be next year. Offensively, they're stacked at the line and skill positions. I like Thompson for who he is, but they have to install a different offense for him. That said, I'm not convinced he'll be the starter by season's end.

As far as defense is concerned, I expect USC to be strong on D-line, again, and rock-solid at the second level. If the secondary, which is scary young, can figure it out, the team is a formidable contender.

I like that we get UGA and Mizzou at home, but I'm assuming a loss at the Barn.

All of this to say that USC could win it, or be a step or two behind. Dunno.

Honestly, you have no clue what the frick will happen. Pretty idiotic to think that it will definitely come down to Mizzou and UGA.

Maybe florida will be good again. I mean, they have had one uncompetitive year in 30 seasons and now you are completely writing them off. Would that be so surprising with all the injuries last year? USC could easily be good. UT has been recruiting well of late and do you remember any other bad SEC teams that recruited well and then became good SEC teams?

Mizzou wins it again. Mizzou vs Texas A&M in Atlanta seems to be the most likely.
