of landing a top 10 class. I saw multiple posters say we'd be lucky to be in the top 20.

Are you old enough to remember when Tennessee fans didn't have to stoop to these levels?

Looking forward to seeing another class go through Knoxville without beating Bama.

So what you are really trying to say is

and you want people to apologize for rustling them.

I'm glad myself. I want The Bama - Tennessee game to be a meaningful game and have conference championship implications. Tennessee doing poorly is not good for SEC Football and if y'all don't beat Bama some time soon LSU fans will riot.

The ratings of your class, 7th on 247, was as much about the size of your class, 33, as it was the quality. According to 247, you have no 5 stars, 16 four stars and 17 three stars. Very solid class regardless.

I never said that, but I'm still a hater.

Just wanted to point that out.

We'll holy shite, you signed the entire Southern Hemisphere. The only reason your top 10 is a numbers game.

The real question is how many SEC schools couldn't put together a better 36 man class if everyone had the opportunity? Essentially you took two classes this year, and neither were top 10. Hopefully the hype helps y'all recruit quality players next year.

TN signed a great class this year. I think most Vols would admit they ran into some luck with a deeper in-state class and some nice legacy recruits as well. It will be interesting to see how TN does in recruiting this year, and if they are able to follow up on a great year for TN recruiting (they are off to a fast start, even though I don't put a ton of stock into that). TN needs to win 7-8 this year, so they can show they are moving in the right direction. Anything less than that, and teams will start negatively recruiting them, saying there's no improvement in site. I think Butch gets it done and wins 7-8 though. Good luck this year TN fans.

Tennessee's class ranking is based on quantity moreso than quality (though there are definitely some very good players in it).

The reality though is that it is almost mathematically impossible to sign over 30 players and not be in the top-15 using 247's formula. You'd literally have to sign almost entirely 2-3 stars.

UT was all about quantity > quality which was necessary due to the lack of success over the past few years. Sad to see what's happened to what used to be the pride of Knoxville. It's time to retool that whole program. When you are able to offer immediate starting time at nearly every position the recruits will flock.
