COLUMBIA, S.C. - The University of South Carolina equestrian team is ranked No. 1 for the tenth straight week in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) rankings, it was announced today. The Gamecocks have been ranked No. 1 since Dec. 2, after setting a program record with six wins during the fall semester.

Carolina (7-2, 1-2 SEC) opened its spring schedule on Feb. 1, defeating then-No. 4 New Mexico State, 12-8, in Las Cruces. The Gamecocks are one of only two teams in the NCEA that have posted nine or more points in every meet this season. The other team, Baylor, moves up to No. 2 in the latest rankings.

The Gamecocks return to action this weekend, when Carolina travels to Bishop, Ga. to face the sixth-ranked Bulldogs at the UGA Equestrian Complex. Carolina and Georgia last met during the fall in Blythewood, with the Bulldogs winning a 9-9 tiebreker.

NCEA Rankings - February 4, 2014?
Ranking/Team?
1. South Carolina
2. Baylor
3. Auburn
4. Kansas State
5. New Mexico State
6. Georgia
7. Oklahoma State
8. TCU
9. UT-Martin
10. Texas A&M

Frickin' nine or more points in every meet this season. That's incredible.

Big meet this weekend in SCAR vs UGA.

Sooo...there are 4 SEC Equestrian teams and they are all in the top 10. That is pretty solid.

I don't understand why Tennessee and Kentucky don't do anything with this. UT should have great program yet we don't really have anything but a club.

One does not simply trot into Bishop, GA and come out with a victory.

Pretty legit that there are only 4 SEC Equestrian teams, and all 4 are in the Top 10.

The legitimacy of the women's gymnastics as a sport is questioned yet we have people posting rankings of a sport that involves zero athletic ability from actual human beings. Only on the SEC Rant.
