Just picked up a bottle. Any good or did I just fall for the cool bottle ploy?

It's a really cool bottle.

Very drinkable. Easy to drink neat...but I didn't like it a lot. Cool bottle though.

That Williet bottle looks like a bong.

Anyone tried Willett Bourbon

If it is who I think it is, and pretty sure it is, Willett family were an old distilling family in Bardstown KY who made their own stuff generations ago and did sub work for some of the bigger brands out there. My understanding is the latest generation have made a big push back into bottling under their own name and brand so it should be pretty good.

Very sweet desert bourbon with a long shaft.

You figure that one out.

No surprise you bought this.

My dad loves it. He says it's an acquired taste. I'm more of an evan green label guy

I'm having some Willett's tonight actually. It's a good bourbon. Not my favorite, but definitely worthy of your liquor cabinet.

No-but after considerable deliberation over 20 years... Buffalo Trace.

I've had Pappy 12 and Rip 10, and everything else under the sun bourbon wise, and Buffalo Trace is it. Eagle Rare (same distillery) is good, also. Woodford Reserve is good at a higher price point.

I'm into rye these days, though. Old Overholt-$13.50 a bottle. Don't laugh. Try it. Only 80 proof, but well worth it. A daily drinker.

Had Sazerac Rye tonight-it's OK. Rittenhouse is a close 2nd to Overholt. Knobb Creek Rye ain't bad. Wild Turkey rye is like drinking liquid fire.

That is all. Good night. Thank you, Sazerac.
