i think ryan anderson has practiced inside more than devall though

I think so too, but Anderson has been more impressive as an edge rusher than Devall, IMO.

i thought i remembered tim williams playing inside some too?

I don't recall that, but he's played some Will in a 43

williams moving inside, would become our most athletic ILB.

I don't know how well Williams would do in coverage. He was a DE in high school and has worked primarily as an edge rusher in college. I think he has great closing speed going forward. But, when I look at defensive players one of the greatest distinctions I see among college players is that some guys are better running forward and some guys are better running backwards. Vinnie and LC26 we're safties, but they were better running towards the ball than they were tracking a ball in the air. Rashaad Johnson and Haha were great at tracking the ball. Ro was better at attacking the LOS, CJ was better in coverage (although, by his senior year, CJ was everywhere). It seems that we recruit a lot more guys that are great at attacking and need to work on coverage. But I haven't seen much from Tim Williams that would convince me he would be strong in coverage. Just line him up on the edge and let him use that explosive first step to get around the tackle. Keith Holcombe is the guy I want to see be a coverage backer. He has great size and was a safety for most of his HS career. Havent heard anything about how he is progressing though
