Al.com has a piece on Daron Payne and Mississippi State. Their recent focus on the Birmingham metro isn't making things easy for Alabama with Payne. Of course, this time last year it was Marlon Humphrey.

It was in reference to Barton Simmons stating that UNC was more of a factor than people realize. I would figure they would have to be if he's committed there. Irregardless of having an announcement.
