They didn't but the statement made implied that Jennings had proven himself and Coker had not. Coker will have arguably the best best backfield in the country and one of the best receiving corps in college football to work with, so even if he is not any better than Jennings I still expect him to be much better.

Reasonable people can disagree on the 2, but FWIW, the 1 start Jennings has was against a top ten defense. I'm a little bothered that he didn't have more success throwing the ball, but he didn't need to with Hill going HAM.
