UVA may offer more money but they are not top tier ACC and sports just do not drive the needle hard enough to may that happen. The bigger question is if another ACC can and will make a run.

Louisville certainly has the resources and facilities which means in the future they can generate the revenue. Folks might not be surprised to see Tennessee or Connecticut as best attendance schools but the Cards have quietly moved up to challenge them. The uptick is they already have a coach who is winning so no threat now. Duke, UNC, and Notre Dame should have the resources in the ACC.

Baylor in the B12 and Stanford in the PAC have coaches who will probably retire there. After that, who has the attendance to make a run? B1G has maybe Purdue and possibly Michigan State.

The big issue is the SEC. Holly is doing well but still on the hot seat. Kentucky put close to 24,000 in Rupp for a game this year and Memorial has witnessed a few sold out games. Both of these could make a run and have the cash to do it. Gary Blair is getting older and maybe a few other SEC schools may step up their game. If she does get raided my guess is it will be another SEC school or an ACC one.

Schools that can draw around 10,000 a game. Last year Cocks were #26 and pulling just under 4K per game. To be a destination job 8K is a safer spot. The question is if the Cocks can average 8K per game?

Anything like that would be breaking new ground. I mean we had a few fantastic years with incredible attendance numbers at SCAR back in the late 70s, but those days are long gone.

Whatever happens now, happens because Staley made it happen, because she broke new ground and established something of her own. If anyone can raise the attendance figures at SCAR for WBK, that woman can - she is something special.
